GF pizza

Not Just Any Ol’ Gluten-Free Pizza Base…

The time has come! After endless trials and tribulations, our Executive Chef Angelo, has finally given his seal of approval for the newest addition to our special diets menu – our gluten-free pizza base.

Unlike other run-of-the-mill GF pizza bases out there, ours are made to order – so no freezer burns here, buddy. We’re able to cook these bases in the same oven as all the others because they’re cooked in a separate tray; so it’s still totally Italian, just without the risk.

After crunching the numbers, we chose the five restaurants with the highest demand for gluten-free food to test out our new pizza bases: Bluewater, Newcastle, Earls Court, Notting Hill and Farnham.

All we need now is your feedback. Once you’ve tried one of our new Gluten-Free pizzas, you’ll be given a feedback form to fill out. At the end of the trial, we’ll be able to see if the pizza is a hit or if we need to keep working on it before we launch it company wide.

Much like the general election (but way more important of course) every vote counts. So come down to one of the five specially chosen restaurants to try our new gluten-free pizza and let us know what you think.

Please roll it out to Scotland too!!! Very few Italian restaurants offer this due to cross comtamination concerns so it would be great.

Tried the new pizza today. Very impressed by your head chef’s enthusiasm & care. It’s a great start. We hope our fans & other coeliacs will give you some positive & honest feedback to make the best base ever. Keep up the staff training to avoid cross contamination & we think you have a real hit! A plea though – pls do add a good Gluten Free Beer to your menu. We all know that pizza & beer are made to go together!

I visited a Zizzi’s for the first time at Easter in London overlooking the Thames. The gluten free pasta dish I had was fantastic and I now look forward to being able to try the pizzas. Is the trial on for a limited time only or will you keep it going until you roll them out to other branches, as may not be near one for another couple of months. Will tell my daughter though as she too is a coeliac.

Just been to the Zizzi at Earl’s Court – tried their new gluten free pizza. Fantastic! So pleased with the fact that it’s freshly made, under a controlled system rather than some awful frozen product. It really does taste like a proper Italian thin crust. Well done Zizzi and thanks to your development team for coming up with this.

Hi Anna – We’ve supplied those restaurants with enough ingredients to make 50 gluten free pizza bases each – we didn’t want to put a time limit on it but once they’re out we’ll gather the feedback and hopefully get to roll it out every where else.

HOORAAAY I live in Redhill and think the trip to either Farnham or Bluewater is well worth the drive to try one of these, non-coeliacs will not really understand why we are all so excited about a pizza base but thank you Zizzis for understanding why we are!

Hi, can anyone tell me how long the trial is on for in Newcastle please?

Reply
Sarah said on

Hi Lisa, we haven’t set any time limits for the trials – each restaurant will just keep running it until their GF ingredients run out. It’s worth giving them a ring on: 01912618360
to find out how many they have left in stock before your next visit. Hope this helps!
