Kicking off her musical career in London in 2005, Karin embarked on a series of gigs, song writing, sessions and production work. She achieved early recognition for her talents, most notably being invited to perform at the legendary jazz club, Ronnie Scott’s.
Her music offers a distinct harmony between the classical training she received when learning the viola mixed with the raw talent demonstrated through her self-taught guitar playing – thus engineering a truly distinct and melodic sound.
Between 2008 and 2010, she has made a name for herself by contributing to all three of ‘The Island Experiment’ compilations and has taken this one step further in 2011 by recording her first solo album, ‘Private Behaviour.’
Compared to timeless classics such as Minnie Riperton, The Carpenters and Dusty Springfield by fellow collaborators as well as listeners, more contemporary comparisons include Corinne Bayley Rae and Duffy. A truly remarkable voice (and a lovely person to boot!) look out for her at our Zizzi St Giles Sessions in the coming months.
