Vino Novello In a Zizzi Near You

Monday may not be everyone’s favourite day of the week, but for us it brought the added excitement of the first bottle of Vino Novello. As soon as the clock struck five (being a civilised bunch!) our team of experienced sommeliers popped open this year’s Vino Novello and finally got to sample some of Italy’s freshest wine.

Served a full 11 days before France’s Beaujolais Nouveau it’s an opportunity to try some of this year’s very first wine harvest. With a light and fruity flavour, and slightly lower alcohol content, Vino Novello is a unique red that is best served a little chilled, and has a slight ‘frizzante’ finish. However, it quickly cemented itself as a firm favourite, if judging by the empty taster bottles is anything to go by!

Vino Novello is ideally drunk with light first courses, white meats or fresh cheeses. It’s also a great accompaniment for pizza, salami and (rather fittingly for winter) roasted chestnuts.

Join us, and the rest of Italy, as we celebrate 2011’s Vino Novello season. Bottles are in limited supply so book your table at Remember to keep an eye on our Facebook page for exclusive Vino Novello events in a Zizzi near you.
