31 Reasons To Love January – #17


It’s safe to say a large portion of us have vowed to take control of our diets this year. That being said, how we choose to do so can vary greatly; some of us will cut out all carbohydrates while others live on a liquid diet of soups and smoothies. However, if none of those extreme diets tickle your fancy, may we make a suggestion? Eat. More. Fish. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again; fish may not be the most attractive of creatures, but they’ll work wonders for your body and mind.

Prawns get a bad rap for their high cholesterol content but they have plenty more good attributes than bad. Did you know it can benefit weight loss? Packed with Protein, vitamins D and B3, and Zinc they’re an excellent carbohydrate-free food. In fact, Zinc has been proven to increase levels of Leptin – which helps regulate the body’s energy, fat storage and appetite. So next time you’re feeling peckish, try our Spiedini di Gamberi Insalata and get a little extra boost of Zinc.

Now we’re not about to claim that our crispy calamari rings are packed with super nutrients that will help you shed 2 stone in 4 days…but they are super delicious. That being said, if you are watching those calories then you should try our Spaghetti Chitarra alla Pescatora. Without the batter, squid is exceptionally low in calories and fat. When tossed in along side some prawns and mussels, it really helps bring the dish to life. It’s like a scene from Finding Nemo…but in your mouth.
