31 Reasons To Love January – #30

30. SOME WARMING WINTER HEALTH (A Guest Blog written by our lovely waitress Kristina from Zizzi Cambridge)

It may be cold outside, but don’t let it freeze your appetite. As we all know, winter is the most common time for being ill, for not getting enough vitamins and for generally being  a bit down in the dumps. Well I think we should all find a reason  to love this time of the year.

The  easiest way I have found is to get over the winter blues is with healthy, nutritious food.  So, just once this month, try and prepare something that you have never cooked before. Something that will be tasty and healthy at the same time, and that will bring you and your family some warmth and comfort. 

This January, my favourite dish is Zucca e Pancetta, a creamy risotto made with Pumpkin and crispy Pancetta. Pumpkin is a tasty source of vitamins and minerals, particularly beta-carotene, vitamin C and potassium. It is very important, particularly in winter, to keep your body enriched with minerals for the proper functioning of all cells, tissues, and organs in the human body.

So, give it a try. Trust me, you will love it. I can see you warming up already
