Good Times Glam by Lisa Haynes

See in 2015 with dazzling party pieces. Fashion and beauty editor Lisa Haynes gives her guide to looking festively luxe.

New Year’s Eve is the time I dress unashamedly like a fashion magpie. If it’s sparkly, shiny and/or covered in glitz, I’m wearing it. Because if you can’t sparkle like a Strictly Come Dancing contestant over the party season, when can you?

Getting ready for Good Times at Zizzi, I wore a H&M embellished scuba top with baby pink faux fur coat. If you’re having a big meal out, focus on what you’re wearing from the waist up – a blingy top or statement necklace will be the main attraction of your Instagram snaps. Another essential dining accessory? Killer heels – totally doable if you’re sitting down for the duration of your feast.

Lisa’s Zizzi Good Times favourites:
“Perfect for a big, girly night out”
– Drink: Winterberry Prosecco
– Starter: Fritto Misto
– Meal: Ravioli Di Capra
– Dessert: Chocolate Tartufo

A playsuit is the modern way to wear a high hemline and not have to worry about being graceful when you’re doing The Can-Can. I love New Look’s jewel tone blue jacquard playsuit. If the bandeau neckline feels too exposed, drape a grey faux fur stole over one shoulder.

Heavily embellished tops are usually reserved for after-dark but H&M’s sweatshirt is the exception. The high neckline, boxy shape and scuba fabric tone down those super-sized gems for day or night, or both.

Give a nod to this season’s 60s trend with an A-line mini. In muted pewter, Topshop’s lurex skirt can be teamed with a woolly rollneck or dressy cami top. Feeling brave? Try a head-to-toe look with the matching bomber jacket.

Topshop lurex flippy skirt, £50

SkirtWho needs jewellery when you’re wearing French Connection’s Caiman dress? Like a mosaic for the body, ensure the limelight stays on the OTT sequins by teaming it with low-key accessories in neutral colours.

French Connection Caiman sequinned dress, £175

dressIf you’re bored of the LBD, Coast’s Nicole jumpsuit is the party-ready all-in-one that just requires show-stopping heels. Shoulder robe a faux fur jacket over the top until you’re ready to flaunt the glitz.

Coast Nicole embellished jumpsuit, £135

JumpsuitChocoholic alert! I’m trying to resist the urge to nibble on New Look’s novelty chocolate coin clutch. It’s fun, seasonal but the metallic shade means it’s versatile enough to be a delicious addition to pretty much any party outfit.

New Look chocolate coin clutch, £10

bag2Fact: leopard print never goes out of fashion. I’m not only drawn to Dune’s Bellini courts because of their name but the fact that they instantly elongate the leg. The contrast black toe cap and metallic accent give them a disco edge.

Dune Bellini courts, £42
