31 Reasons To Love January – #28

Has there ever been a more reliable pick-me up than Chocolate? Is there anything more satisfying than opening your lunch box and remembering that you made that genius decision of adding a cheeky Kit Kat to the lunch agenda? No is the answer to both of those questions. And we have three pieces of evidence to throw your way, which will help explain what is so great about the stuff and justify you indulging in the silky, smooth chocolatey goodness this January.

1. Those clever know-it-alls in Cambridge have concluded that chocolate reduces the risk of heart disease and protects the brain (in moderate amounts obviously!)

2. Chocolate increases the levels of endorphins released to your brain…which roughly translates into “Chocolate makes you feel awesome and makes you want to party like it’s 1999”

3. Chocolate is better than kissing. So next time your partner comes up with some snide comment about you needing to cut down on the amount of chocolate you eat, just tell them that until they can satisfy you as much as chocolate does…they can pipe the hell down!

So there you have it. The proof is in the pudding as they say…and we have enough chocolatey puddings to supply some further solid, hard evidence. So when you’ve next cleaned off your Rustica Piccante or Penne al la Vodka, don’t feel guilty about browsing the dessert menu and filling your boots with a chocolate based pud. Grissini e Cioccolata? Torte Cioccolata? Chcolate melt? We’ll take all three. Thanks very much.
